Comparison of 'Harlem Hopscotch' and 'We Real Cool' poems.

'Harlem Hopscotch' is a poem written by Maya Angelou, whereas 'We Real Cool' is a poem written by Gwendolyn Brooks. If compare both the poems, we will get to known that both these poems are a reflection of black community. 'Harlem Hopscotch' is about the African American Community, the problems faced by the blacks, and the idea of poverty; similarly 'We Real Cool' is about the group of black teenagers.

Apart from this, in both the poems the poets have illustrated the main idea with the help of a game. The former one mentions the common game of Hopscotch, whereas the latter one mentions the game of pool. The players in both the poems play not just to win, but to survive. Harlem Hopscotch is more about the struggle, hardships, and poverty ad compared to We Real Cool.
