a. white paint

If 20% of the mixture is blue paint and there are 4 cups of it, then there is twice the amount of white paint as 40% is twice as much as 20%

4 × 2 = 8 cups of white paint

b. red paint

same explanation as the white paint since the mixture is also 40% red.

8 cups of red paint

c. lilac paint

8 cups red + 8 cups white + 4 cups blue = 20 cups lilac

Answer:

8 cups of white paint, 8 cups of red paint, and 20 cups of lilac

Explanation:

20% of the paint is blue In the mixture(4 cups of blue paint were used)

20%= 4 cups of blue paint

Therefore 40% of white paint equals 8 cups of white paint same applies to the rest of the red paint

The rest of the red paint equals 40% because if you add 20% + 40%=60%

100% of the total of the mixture -60% of the blue paint and white equals 40% left of the rest of the red paint.
