Caulobacter crescentus is a specie of gram negative aquatic bacteria. There is gene called as Ccrm gene in them that is responsible for the the synthesis of Ccrm enzyme that is crucial for the proper cell division of cells. When, there is a mutation in this gene, the bacteria won't be able to synthesize Ccrm enzyme anymore. This causes accumulation of two conserved FtsZ and MipZ proteins in cells and result in severe defects and irregulations during cell division.
