Explanation:

Let X = the number of days.

For growth rate,

y = X° × rate of growth, k

Where,

X° = initial amount of bacteria

k = rate of growth per day

Colby = 50 bacteria

kc = 2^(24/2 × X)

y = 50 × 2^(12X)

Jaquan = 80 bacteria

kj = 2^(24/3 × X)

y = 80 × 2^(8X)
