A = πr²

where A is the area, and r is the radius. As shown in the image, the radius of the circle is 10. To find the area of the circle, plug in 10 for r into the equation of the circle.

A = π(10)²

10² is 100

A = 100π

So the area of the circle is 100π. We are not done yet. Remember, the shape is a quarter of the circle, so we still have to divide the area of the circle by 4 to find the correct answer.

100π/4 = 25π

The area of the shape would be 25π units².
