The surface area of a cylinder to the nearest tenth is 390.8 square feet

Solution:

The surface area of cylinder is given as:

A=2 \pi rh+2 \pi r^2

Where, r is the radius and h is the height

From given,

r = 4.9 feet

h = 7.8 feet

Substituting the values we get,

A = 2 * 3.14 * 4.9 * 7.8 + 2 * 3.14 * 4.9^2\\\\A = 240.0216+150.7828\\\\A = 390.8044 \approx 390.8

Thus the surface area of a cylinder to the nearest tenth is 390.8 square feet
