Answer:

given ,

two points A ( -1 , 2 ) and B ( 0 , -14 )

  • to find - coordinates of midpoint of A and B

______________________________________

\fbox\pink{Solution -}

let the midpoint be P ( x , y )

using midpoint formula ,

P(x,y) = ( ( x_(1) + x_(2) )/(2) , ( y_(1) + y_(2) )/(2) ) \\ \\ P(x,y) = ( ( - 1 + 0)/(2) , (2 + ( - 14))/(2) ) \\ \\ (x,y) = ( ( - 1)/(2) , ( - 12)/(2) ) \\ \\ x = ( - 1)/(2) \\ \\ y = ( - 12)/(2) => - 6

thus ,

the coordinates of the midpoint are

\red{P( ( - 1)/(2) , - 6)} \\ \\ or \\ \\ \red{P( -0.5 , - 6 )}

hope helpful :D

Answer:

Explanation:

A(-1,2) x₁ = -1 & y₁ = 2

B(0 ,-14) x₂ = 0 & y₂ = -14

\text{ \sf Midpoint = $\left((x_(1)+x_(2))/(2) ,(y_(1)+y_(2))/(2)\right)$ }

= \left ((-1+0)/(2) ,(2+[-14])/(2) \right) \\\\\\=\left((-1)/(2), (-12)/(2)\right)\\\\\\=\left( -0.5 , -6 \right)
