Now from right angle triangle ABD, we apply Pythagoras theorem.

BD² = AB² + AD²

BD² = 3² + (1.8)²

BD² = 9 + 3.24

BD = √12.24

BD= 3.498 ≈ 3.50 km

Therefore, distance between Brian and deer is 3.5 km.
