Answer:

Side 3 = 1.25 feet

Explanation:

Given :

  • Two side measures of a triangle = 17 inches and 13 inches
  • Perimeter = 45 inches

To Find :

  • Length of 3rd side

Solving :

  • Side 1 + Side 2 + Side 3 = Perimeter
  • 13 + 17 + Side 3 = 45
  • Side 3 = 45 - 30
  • Side 3 = 15 inches
  • Side 3 = 1.25 feet

Given:-

\rightarrow First side(a) of triangle = 17in.

\rightarrow Second side(b) of triangle = 13in.

\rightarrow Perimeter of triangle = 45in.

To Find:-

\rightarrowThird side of the triangle.

Formula Used:-

\rightarrow Perimeter of triangle = sum of all side(a+b+c).

Solution:-

\rightarrow Perimeter of triangle = a + b + c.(putting the value of perimeter, side a and b from the above given)

\rightarrow
\sf{45\: = \: 17+13+c}

\rightarrow
\sf{45\: = \: 30+c}

\rightarrow
\sf{45-30\: = \:c}

\rightarrow
\sf{15in.\: = \: c}

Therefore, third side = 15in.

\rightarrowTo convert this value into feet we need to divide it by 12, because there are 12 inches in a foot.

\rightarrow
\sf{(15)/(12)}

\rightarrow
\sf{1.25feet}
