A:she should have added 5.4 to each side
B: she should have added the inverse of 5.4 to each side
C:she should have computation error when she subtracted 5.4 form 12.2
D: she should have added 12.2 to each side.

I got A because B says inverse, and inverse means opposite. Also, C doesn't even make sense and D says that the answer is supposed to be done on both sides, the ANSWER.

A is the right answer because you would've done the inverse of -5.4 (5.4) and add it to the 12.2 and get 17.6. After you got 17.6, you're supposed to take the 17.6 and divide it by one but you don't need to do that since it'll get you the same answer, 17.6.

So x = 17.6 NOT x = 6.8
