A 1200-kg car is pulling a 500-kg trailer along level ground. Friction of the road on the trailer is negligible. The car accelerates with an acceleration of 1.3 m/s2. What is the force exerted by the car on the traile

Answer:

T=1560N

Step-by-step explanation:

The train and the car

Since friction is negligible

Then the force acting on the car will be normal force and weight

No forward force act on the car,

It is only the tension cause by the trailer act on the car.

Then using summation of force= ma

ΣF = ma

The only force acting on the car is the tension rope use to tie the car and the trailer together and that is the force exerted by the car on the trailer

Then,

That tension is =ma

T=1200×1.3

T=1560N.

Then the tension on the trailer is 1560N
