Answer:

a. Broke free of the Roman Catholic Church and founded a new church of England known as the Anglican Church.

Step-by-step explanation:

King Henry VIII of England had at first been a supporter of the church and had seemed to defend the church from any complains, one such being the grievances issued by Martin Luther. But then, after some years, he will fights the very institution he had saved.

When his first wife Catherine of Aragon failed to give him a legitimate heir for the throne, he shifted his attention to one of her ladies-in-waiting Anne Boleyn. But when he wanted to divorce Catherine, the Pope refused to annul their marriage, stating that it was against the church principles. This led to Henry's 'divorce' from the Catholic Church and found a new Church of England. This new church is more pro- Protestantism but he was not really into the faith. He did it to separate the church of England from the authority of the papacy.
