Tom bought six CDs that were each the same price including sales tax he paid a total of $67.80 each CD has a tax of $.50 what was the price of each CD before tax

.50x6=3 total tax

67.80-3=64.80 price of all w/o tax

64.80/6=10.8 price of one w/o tax

answer: $10.80

First, find how much the total amount of taxes were by multiplying.

0.50 * 6 = $3 of taxes.

Second, subtract the total tax amount to the final amount to find the amount of all six CD's before tax.

67.80 - 3 = $64.80 total amount before taxes were applied.

Third, divide to find how much each CD cost.

64.80 / 6 = $10.80 per CD.
