Coronary artery disease is a very common disease people can get; it is the leading cause of death in many countries around the world. You can be at high risk if you have a family history with the disease, smoking a lot, being overweight, not having a good diet, and not being physically fit or healthy. How these diseases work is when the artery becomes clogged up or damaged the heart can not get the nutrients it needs to keep you going. The process of clogging up the arteries can be fast or it can take a lifetime, but if you get it the average woman is expected to live 7 years with the disease while for men it is only 6. If you leave this untreated you can get chest pains, heart attacks, and finally death.

There is no cure for this disease; however, just having an active lifestyle and eating right can lower your risk significantly. Most of the victims of Coronary artery disease are in the elderly age range. Their bodies do not have the strength or energy to be physically active as young people are. There are some ways to unblock an artery, decrease your sugar intake, healthy fats only, eating only lean meats, and avoid alcohol as much as possible.

For a person to avoid developing this disease it must adopt a lifestyle where good nutrition and exercise are a fundamental part of its daily life. The person should consume healthier foods and reduce portions of fried foods that contain high cholesterol levels, as well as exercise continuously.
