The figure 54.3 shows an example of a model which compares relative species richness and species diversity of these two coffee plantations.

According to this model, we can see that the species diversity in the clear-cut plantation is a lot lesser as compared to the coffee plant which was planted int the natural forest. The species diversity is higher in the natural forest because of higher number of species and also due to the more even distribution of abundance among species.
