Is the direction of current through a battery always from the negative terminal to the positive one?

Poorly written question.

The direction of current through a CIRCUIT is always from the negative terminal of the battery to the positive one.

But the battery develops it's voltage and supplies its current and energy by chemical processes going on everywhere inside the battery, so it's not applicable to talk about any particular current "through" a battery.

Answer:

Yes. The current is actually flow of charge and in actual situation electrons flow from negative terminal to positive terminal. But in physics the convention of positive charge flow is used i.e. we take the direction of current from positive to negative terminal.
