Answer : The mass of nitrogen gas collected is, 290.9 grams

Explanation :

To calculate the mass of nitrogen gas we are using ideal gas equation:

PV=nRT\\\\PV=(w)/(M)RT

where,

P = pressure of nitrogen gas = 1 atm

V = volume of nitrogen gas = 250 L

T = temperature of nitrogen gas =
20^oC=273+20=293K

R = gas constant = 0.0821 L.atm/mole.K

w = mass of nitrogen gas = ?

M = molar mass of nitrogen gas = 28 g/mole

Now put all the given values in the ideal gas equation, we get:

(1atm)* (250L)=(w)/(28g/mole)* (0.0821L.atm/mole.K)* (293K)

w=290.9g

Therefore, the mass of nitrogen gas collected is, 290.9 grams.
