Popcorn is made by heating up a small droplet of water inside a corn kernel. When enough pressure builds up, it pops and we eat the fluffy white part. Given that corn is a monocot, what is the fluffy white stuff that we eat?

Answer:

ENDOPSERM

Step-by-step explanation:

This is the white stuff of the corn kernel we it, It pops out because the tiny droplet of water which surrounded it in the hull, (hard shell ) evaporated to steam , which expands as it gains heat energy during heating.. This pressure build up expands kernel until it exceeded its limits. It therefore pops out exposing the white Endsoperm.

The Endosperm is site of food storage for the seedling during germination from seed

Answer:the fluffy white stuff is called the endosperm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Monocots( also called monocotyledons) are plants that bears only one cotyledon, example includes corn, peas, beans and many among others. In the monocot seeds, they bear a carbohydrate components known as endosperm which feeds the new plant and it's found outside the seed coat.

The corn kernel is made up of four main parts which includes: endosperm, the pericarp, the germ, and the tip cap.

Endosperm is produced through the fusion of two sperm nuclei and an ovule inside a pollen grain. It's usually white or yellow in colour and is made up of carbohydrates.
