Madison is riding her horse around the outside of a circular arena.she knows 14 laps is 1/2 a mile what is the diameter of the arena

The diameter of the arena is 18.3 meters.

Explanation:

As, 14 laps =
(1)/(2) mile

so, 1 lap =
(1)/(28) mile ( ∵14 × 2 = 28)

For the horse completing one lap it completes the perimeter of the circle.

perimeter (P) =
(1)/(28) mile

let diameter of that circle be represented as d,

P=
\pi × d

or,
(1)/(28) =
\pi × d

or, d=
(1)/(28\pi )

∴ d= 18.3 meters.

The diameter of the arena is 18.3 meters.
