So from any given two points, you can calculate this.

rise is 3

run is 5, but it would be negative 5 because the slope of the line is negative.

Use the red dots as two points in the line.

Slope = change in y over the change in x.

point 1: (-5,4)

Point 2: (5,-2)

Slope = (-2 - 4) / ( 5 - -5)

Slope = -2/10

Slope = -1/5
