There are 3 sides. If you draw out a triangle, each line is a separate side (a line segment connecting 2 vertices, or points). You can also see in the word "triangle" the prefix "tri-", meaning "three". It refers to the shape having 3 angles, but when there are 3 angles there are 3 sides to make it up. This is true for other shapes too - in a square, there are 4 sides connecting 4 points, and between each side is an angle, creating 4 angles.

Answer:

Three

Explanation:

A triangle is a 2-D figure having three sides, three vertices , and three angles formed in it.

The sum of all the three angles in a triangle is 180°

Also, Area of a triangle =
(1)/(2)*base*altitude

Altitude is the perpendicular height of a triangle from the base of it

Perimeter of a triangle= Sum of length of all its three sides

In a right angled triangle the Pythagoras Theorem can be applied to find its third side if two are given:

(Length of Hypotenuse)²=(Length of Base)²+(Length of Perpendicular)²
