All tractors made by a certain company are produced on one of three assembly lines, named Red, White, and Blue. The chances that the tractor will not start when it rolls off of a line are 6%, 11%, and 8% fors lines Red, White, and Blue, respectively. The percentages of all tractors produced on each line are: Red: 48% White: 31% Blue: 21% What is the probability that a tractor came off the White line, given that it wouldn't start?

Answer:

Probability of tractor do not start = 7.67%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data:

Probability of not start at red = 6%

Probability of not start at white = 11%

Probability of not start at Blue = 8%

Percentage of tractors produced in red line = 48%

Percentage of tractors produced in white line = 31%

hence Percentage of tractors produced in white line = 1 - 0.48 - 0.31 = 0.21

Probability of tractor do not start
= 0.06 * 0.48 + 0.11 * 0.21 + 0.08 * 0.31

Probability of tractor do not start = 0.0288 + 0.0231 + 0.0248 = 0.0767

Probability of tractor do not start = 7.67%
