How do radio telescopes work?

I need this to sound like I pulled it out of my brain so...Dumb it down a bit​

Answer: Whenever you use the tool The dish collects the radio signals from space and focuses them on the antenna, then a dish that is bigger than the other one collect more radio waves and lead to a stronger signal at the antenna, so radio telescopes can be huge.
