two joggers are running around an oval track in opposite directions. One jogger runs around the track in 56 seconds. They meet every 24 seconds. How mnay seconds does it take the second jogger to run around the track?

it takes 56 seconds for the first jogger to complete the track. They meet every 24 second. when they meet first jogger has completed
(24)/(56) of the track distance which is
(3)/(4).

Fraction covered by second jogger at point of meeting will be
1-(3)/(7)

=
(4)/(7)

this means the second jogger ran
(4)/(7) of track distance in 24 sec.

to run the complete track it would take 7/4 *24 =42 seconds
