Answer:

Perimeter of the rectangle, P = 22 inches

Explanation:

Let A represent the area, L , the length, W , the width and P, the perimeter of the rectangle

Area of a rectangle, A = LW ....eq 1

Perimeter of a rectangle P = 2 ( L + W ) ....eq 2

A = 28 sq inches

L = 4 inches

Slotting in the values of A and L in eq 1

28 = 4W

28/ 4 = 4W / 4

7 = W

Therefore, W = 7 inches

Now, lets slot in the values of W and L in eq 2

P = 2 ( 4 + 7 )

P = 2 ( 11 )

P = 22 inches
