4. Herr Gutlieber, a Jewish man brought to the 100th party of the shop by Willem, Corrie's eldest brother.

5. Peter is the son of Willem ten Boom, a minister in the Dutch reformed Church. He is the favorite nephew of Corrie, and has extraordinary interest and ability in music.

6. The home of the ten Booms in the Dutch town of Haarlem is called "the Beje". It is in this home that the shop is also located.
