To find the value of x in the equation 9/4x+2=20, you first get the term with x by itself on one side of the equation. How can you do that? What equation do you then have?

Answer:

Explanation:

9/4x + 2 = 20

To get x by it's self you do the same on both sides of the = to cancel out each side.

9/4x + 2 = 20

(Multiply 9 on both sides)

4x + 2 = 20*9

(Now subtract 2 from both sides)

4x = 20*9 - 2

And finally divide both sides by 4

x = (20*9 - 2)/4

Then solve for x as normal.
