sabella & her family went to Red Lobster. Their bill was $135.65. They had a 15% off coupon on meals more than $75. In addition, they wanted to leave a 20% tip on the original bill amount. How much tip should they leave? How much will they be discounted? What would be their total for the bill with the discount and tip included

The tip amount to be given is $ 27.13

The discounted amount is $ 20.3475

Total for the bill with the discount and tip included is $ 142.4325

Solution:

Given that,

Sabella & her family went to Red Lobster

Their bill was $135.65

They wanted to leave a 20% tip on the original bill amount

Thus the tip paid is given as:

Tip amount = 20 % of 135.65

Tip\ amount = 20 \% * 135.65\\\\Tip\ amount = (20)/(100) * 135.65\\\\Tip\ amount = 0.2 * 135.65\\\\Tip\ amount = 27.13

Thus the tip amount to be given is $ 27.13

They had a 15% off coupon on meals more than $75

Thus the discounted amount is given as:

Discounted amount = 15 \% of\ 135.65\\\\Discounted\ amount = 15 \% * 135.65\\\\Discounted\ amount = (15)/(100) * 135.65\\\\Discounted\ amount = 0.15 * 135.65\\\\Discounted\ amount = 20.3475

Thus the discounted amount is $ 20.3475

What would be their total for the bill with the discount and tip included

Total bill = (original bill - discounted amount) + tip amount

Total bill = (135.65 - 20.3475) + 27.13

Total bill = 142.4325

Thus total for the bill with the discount and tip included is $ 142.4325
