Part 1

Using the Internet, or resources from your local library, research family life in the United States throughout the second half of the twentieth century, beginning in the 1950s. For each decade (1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s), find out the following information:

Who lives at home?
Who works? Who stays home?
What typical activities do families do together?
Note how trends changed over the years. Once you find your information, do the same type of research for families in Spanish-speaking countries. Again, find out about who lived at home, who worked, and what families do together.

Compare your research across the decades and between the different cultures. Then, compare you research with how families live now.

Part 2
Prepare a graphic, such as a T-chart or a double bar graph (i.e. one bar U.S., one bar Spanish-speaking cultures) to present your information. Write a brief report (minimum 250 words) to summarize your research and the information in the graphic. Upload your completed summary and graphic below.

Grammar: Use the present tense of regular and irregular verbs, including the verbs ser and estar. Use the conditional tense.
