Answer:

Go through the explanation properly.

Explanation:

25% of the students are male and 40% students walk to school.

We can not recognize by looking at the face of the students whether they walk to school or not.

It means these two incidents are independent of each other.

a.

25% of the students are male, (100 - 25) = 75% of the students are female.

The probability of a student being female is =
(number of female)/(Total students) = (75)/(100) = (3)/(4).

b.

40% students walk to school.

Hence, (100 - 40) = 60% students do not walk to school.

The probability of a student being male is =
(male students)/(Total students) = (25)/(100) = (1)/(4).

Similarly, the probability of a student being not walk to school is =
(60)/(100) = (3)/(5).

The required probability is
(1)/(4) *(3)/(5) = (3)/(20).

c.

There can be two possibilities, either students walk to school or not walk to school.

Hence, this one represents the whole students.

The probability will be 1, that is it is a certain incident.
