Answer:

The nerves have specialised tip which help in obtaining information from the environment. These receptors are usually located in our sense organs. Now, the information obtained at the end of an dendritic tip of a nerve cell sets of an chemical impulse which creates an electrical impulse. This impulse now travels through the dendrite and to the cell body and along the axon to the end. At the axon end the electrical impulse sets of and chemical impulse which passes through a gap of a synapse and start a similar process in the dendritic tip of a nerve cell. Hence, a similar synapse finally allows the delivery of such an impulse from neurons to other cells such as muscles or glands.
