∴ l = w + 26

Now,

P = 2( l + w ) = 316 inches

⇒ 316 = 2( l + w )

⇒ 316 = 2( w + 26 + w ) ∵ l = w + 26

⇒ 316 = 4 w + 52

⇒ 264 = 4 w

⇒ w = 66 inches
