Explanation:

Find the area of the whole circle first

A = πr²

A = π(6)²

A = 36π for the whole circle

To find the area of the missing part use this formula

A = πr² and then divide by 4.

Use the answer from above to sub in for A = πr². Now divide this by 4

36π / 4 = 9π

To find the area of only the shaded part, take the area of the whole circle minus the area of the missing part.

36π - 9π = 27π
