Slaves were actually a very important key to the south’s economics because the South was less populated so it didn’t have the amount of people needed to go into mass production with factories like the north did, to keep up with the north’s factories which were pumping out goods at a very high rate the south took advantage of their weather and kept on farming which was a very important and necessary to their economy so they kept slaves who would do farming so the correct answer would be A
