A recent survey of Economics majors indicated that 75% were concerned about their grades, 65% were concerned about their employment prospects, and 50% were concerned about both their grades and their employment prospects.

a. What is the probability that a randomly selected Economics major is concerned with their grades, and not their employment prospects?
b. What is the probability that a randomly selected Economics major is concerned with neither of these issues?

Answer: part (a) is 25%

part (B) answer is 10%

Step-by-step explanation:The question can be well explain by a venn diagram as attached

as seen in the diagram the percentage of economics students only concerned about Grades is 25 %

Similarly those only concerned about employment is 15 %

while those concerned about both is 50%

hence the answer to part a is 25% as explained above

the total percentage of students concerned =25+15+50=90%

hence the unconcerned percentage comes out to be 10%

part (B) answer is 10%
