Benefits of Photoautotrophs
Step-by-step explanation:
Photoautotrops – as the name suggests utilizes light energy to produce their own energy through photosynthesis and synthesize organic biomass or molecules from inorganic molecules.
Earth is hugely benefited by the photoautotrophs because:
- Photoautotrophs are the food producers and provide the basic food and energy to all the organisms in the ecosystem. Being at the bottom of a food chain pyramid, they are consumed by the heterotrophs and other carnivores and omnivores eat heterotrophs at a higher level.
- Photoautotrophs through photosynthesis produce oxygen and other organic molecules. This oxygen is vital for survival for humans and other living organisms. They also absorb the atmospheric carbon dioxide and use it for food production during photosynthesis.
