Urn 1 has 2 white and 2 black balls. urn 2 has 3 white and 2 black balls one ball randomly transferred from 1 to 2, then a ball is chosen from 2. if the ball chosen from urn 2 was white, find the probability that the ball transferred from 1 to 2 was white.

Answer:

for us to find the probability of the ball transferred to be white we first find the total number of balls in urn 1,

urn 1= 2 white balls+ 2 black balls = 4 balls

now the probability that it was a white ball that was transfer is given by;

P(white)=
(2)/(4) =(1)/(2) or 0.5, hence this is the probability that it was a white ball that was transferred.

Explanation:

Probability: this is the likelihood of an event happening or not.

probability is defined as the number of required outcome/number of possible outcome.
