let's say you took a taxi for 1 mile

the cost will be $7 + $1.25=$8.25

lets say you get in the taxi but decide you don't want it after all. it will still cost you $7 because a flat fee means if you engage the service at all your liable for $7.

the relationship as fat as a graph is concerned will be linear because it's a steady fee meaning the price per mile doesn't change ever.
