5x^2 + 7x -6

Rewrite the middle term whose product equals first term x last term: 5 x -6 = -30 and whose sum equals the middle term.

Rewrite 7 as -3 + 10

5x^2 +(-3+10)x -6

Use distributive property:

5x^2 -3x + 10x -6

Group the first two terms and last two terms:

(5x^2 -3x) (10x -6)

Factor out greatest common factor of each group to get final answer:

(5x-3)(x+2)
