If x is doubled, then y is also doubled

Solution:

Given that,

Two quantities x and y are directly proportional

For a direct proportion,

If x increases then y increases

If x decreases then y decreases

Given that, x is doubled

Then y will also gets doubled

Also,

x and y are directly proportional

y \propto x\\\\y = kx

Where k is the constant of proportionality

If x is doubled then,

y = k(2x)

y = 2(kx)

Thus y is also doubled
