Equation (1)×5 - equation (2) × 6

30x +25 y-(30x+42y)= 40-57

⇔30x+25y -30x-42y= -17

⇔-17y =-17

⇔y=1

putting the value of y in equation (1)

6x+5×1=8

⇔6x = 8-5

⇔6x=3
