Answer: The number of revolutions the tire makes per minute= 840.76

Explanation:

Given : Diameter of tire = 24 inches

Speed of car = 60 mi/ hr

We know that 1 mile =63360 inches and 1 hour = 60 minutes

Then, Speed of car = ( 60 mi/ hr) x( 63360 inches) ÷ (60 minutes)

=(60*63360 )/(60) inches/minute

=63360 inches / minute

Circumference of tire =
\pi (diameter)

(3.14)(24)=75.36\ inches

Now , the number of revolutions the tire makes per minute =
\frac{\text{speed of car}}{\text{Circumference of tire}}

=(63360)/(75.36)=840.76433121\approx840.76

Hence, the number of revolutions the tire makes per minute= 840.76
