What is the solution to the system of equations? 3 x - 4 y = 16. 2 x + 3 y = 5.

3x - 4y = 16

multiplying equation by 3

it becomes

9x - 12y = 48 ------------(A)

equation 2

2x + 3y = 5

multiplying equation by 4

8x + 12y = 20 -------------(B)

Now comparing equation A & B

17x = 68

x = 4

putting the value of x in equation 2

2(4) + 3y = 5

8 + 3y = 5

3y = -3

y = -1

So, solution is (4 , -1)
