A Ferris wheel can accommodate 75 people in 25 minutes. How many people could ride the Ferris wheel in 5 hours? What was that rate per hour?

Answer:

1 hour rate = 180 - 5 hour rate = 900

Explanation:

To make the whole equation easy divide the number of people by the time.

75 / 25 = 3

Now the number of people can be adjusted to any amount of time.

For the hour rate multiply the number of people per minute by 60.

3 x 60 = 180

For the five hour rate use the same exact equation but multiply the 60 by 5 first.

3 ( 60 x 5 ) = 900
