A company wants to decrease their

energy use by 15%. If their electric
bill is currently $2,100 a month,
what will their bill be if they are
successful? Give your answer
accurate to at least the nearest
dollar.

15% decrease means the bill would be 85% of the original bill ( 100% -15% = 85%)


multiply the current bill by 85%

2100 x 0.85 = 1.785


the bill would be $1,785
