So you need to isolate/get "b" by itself in the equation:

3=(3)/(4)(b-8) Distribute/multiply 3/4 into (b - 8)

3=((3)/(4)(b))+((3)/(4)(-8))

3=((3)/(4) b)+(-6) Don't know which goes into the parentheses....think the one above makes more sense...maybe....sorry

3=(3)/(4) b-6 Add 6 on both sides

9=(3)/(4) b Multiply the reciprocal of 3/4 to get rid of the fraction and get b by itself, which would be 4/3 [basically flipping the fraction or switching the numerator and the denominator]

(36)/(3) =b Simplify the fraction

12 = b
