We have to find the resistance in machine

The formula used is:


P = (V^2)/(R)

Where,

Substituting the given values we get,


1700 = (120^2)/(R)\\\\1700 = (14400)/(R)\\\\R = (14400)/(1700)\\\\R = (144)/(17)\\\\R = 8.47 \approx 8.5
