Equation given:
S = 16t^2

  • S: distance fallen --> 1279 ft
  • t: time taken for the distance fallen

Solve:


S = 16t^2\\1279=16t^2\\t^2 = 79.93\\t=8.9

Thus it took 8 seconds for the thing to fall from the top
