The value of y is 26.

Explanation:

When 2 angles are called as linear and adjacent formed by crossover of two lines, then the measurement of straight angle is equal to 180 degrees.

A pair of linear angles added to produce 180 degrees.

m ∠ACD + m ∠DCB = 180°

(5y+3)° + (2y-5)° = 180°

Grouping the terms on the same side as,

5y+ 2y + 3°-5°= 180°

5y + 2y = 180°- 3°+5°

7y = 182°

Dividing by 7 on both sides, we will get,

y =
(182)/(7) = 26

So the value of y is 26.
