The ratio of boys to girls in class is 2 to 3. If there are 30 students in class how many more girls are in class than boys?

Answer:

There are 6 more girls than boys in the class.

Explanation:

There are 2 + 3 = 5 "parts" students.

Since there are 30 students in total, each "part" is 30 / 6 = 5

There are 2 parts boys = 2 x 6 = 12 boys

There are 3 part girls = 3 x 6 = 18 girls

18 - 12 = 6
